Look I’m doing tech support all over again

I have been reading your site for awhile, and I usually prefer your site over the bulk of other e/n sites. I have a question though, I am running an 850mhz athalon with 128megs of Ram, and the system is not stable at all. Random things will happen such as, I click on a hyperlink the fucking computer restarts, I try to open an App, freeze, crash or restart. Any idea what is wrong with it. I haven’t fucked with it in terms of hardware aside from the addition of an Audio Media III card. No over clocking or anything of that nature. If you could offer any suggestions I’d appreciate it. Anyway keep up the great work on the site.
Thanks!

Since I get tech support emails and icq’s, I figured I’d start posting a few of them. There isn’t much I can say without knowing what motherboard you are running. abit, asus? maybe some of the newer socket a boards. Was it freezing before or after you added the sound card? What OS? My guess would be to double check your voltage settings. Any readers want to take a stab at it? Email tdooner@flashcom.net or email me: eod and add to the collective pool of knowledge.

Comment from fen:
If I were this guy, I’d upgrade from 95 to 98– that usually does the trick. Face it, man, Windows 95 is just outdated. They fixed almost all the bugs in 98, so if you want stability, don’t waste time looking at your board— take a look at your OS.

Comment from Eod:
Screw it.. I just recieved an email from him that he has an HP8720. The logic behind troubleshooting hp personal computers is wack.

Comment from Eod (again):
I got this email

Hey, About that athon system, a good way to remove crashing/random reboots and annoying shit is to enable the 15-16 meg memory hole in the bios . :) It fixed all of my problems, like say windows restarting my comp after only 5 seconds of desktop.
