Last week an article on slashdot about port knocking caught my eye. (Port Knocking being the method of hitting certain ports in a certain order. The result being you open and unlock a service on a select port). A perfect extra layer of security for something like ssh, something I’d be extremely interested in implimenting on many of my public accessible servers. I just wanted to bring it to the attention of a few of the geeky folks here. It is still in a pretty early stage of development but I’d love to see more folks behind it.
