In response to the previous post: For most part, I don’t pay attention to clothes and couldn’t give a squirt of piss about what the whores on E! have to say about fashion. I’m a t-shirt and jeans/shorts sort of guy. I keep a shaved head because it’s easy and have a few tattoos that can be seen if I’m not wearing long sleeves. They are tasteful–my tattoos, not my sleeves–in the respect that they don’t depict a bloody vagina with a banner that reads, “Mother Fucker”. However, a model for J Crew I’m not. I dress conservatively though. You see, I don’t feel the need to draw attention to myself, and I don’t define myself by some fashion statement. I am who I am via my actions and words.

You are not following the norm and people will react to new stimuli. Not always in a positive manner either. I’m not saying it’s fair and I’m not saying it’s right. I’m saying it is to be expected. If the kids are picking on you at school, donning a trench coat and/or fishnet shirt is not going to make your ostracism any less severe. If you wear a Polo shirt with the collar up and a pre-faded, pre-worn-out from the factory trucker hat, expect people to treat you like a trendy yuppie douche. If you are one of these guys that rocks the Ralph Lauren frat boy look, why are you reading this? Shouldn’t you be at the club, slipping ruphies into your next date rape victim’s drink right now? You try too hard yuppie douche. My point here is that clothes don’t make the man. They do, however, make first impressions. Grow up and accept that we do not live in an ideal utopia where people don’t judge by appearances, Pollyanna. The idea is naive at best.
