I’d call The Ghostbusters, but I’m out of minutes on my cell phone.

I spent about 15 minutes today thinking about it, and I decided that if I were ever in a situation where a supernatural being was reading my thoughts in an attempt to take the first thing someone thought of and use it to destroy New York City, I’d probably start singing a song in my head. I figure that would keep my mind occupied enough that I’d avoid thinking about anything specific. The question then became one of choosing a song. Ideally, it’d be something instrumental with a catchy tune, as lyrics would lead to nouns, and nouns would lead to Bad Things.
The theme to Beverly Hills Cop was a good first choice, but at some point I think my mind would wander and Eddie Murphy would appear to sow the seeds of despair upon a metropolitan area clear across the country from his beat.
I thought about various classical songs. However, due to the amount of video games I used to play growing up, the world would fall prey to a mob of these guys.
I entertained the idea of songs in languages I did not know, but the problem with that is, well, I don’t know the words. Plus, if the supernatural being is multilingual, we’re screwed anyway.
I thought about that Pi Song, or simply enumerating the digits of Pi, but I’d then think of the video and the robot in it, which would lead to destruction by exploding dog clones.
During this train of thought, Baby Got Back popped into my head. I immediately nixed that idea. In the end, I gave up on the idea of using a song to save humanity. My mind is just too active to make that a feasible option. So, what the hell… if we’re screwed anyway, I figure I might as well make the death a truly awesome one. If ever I find myself in that situation, ladies and gentlemen, rest assured that your death will be at the whims of Chris, the Ninja Pirate.
