Comfortable With Conformity
|
Monday 3.26.01 A few days ago, at a soccer game, I felt nervous. I was with S, Nick and Mark, and it suddenly occured to me: "What if one of them (besides S) is reading my diary and not telling me? What if they know I'm pissed off at them? I don't know how they would know the url...or that I was talking about them...but ugh, I feel weird writing about them on the internet and spending time with them!" I felt like a very mean, small person, and all I wanted to do was rush home and delete every entry and clear my conscience. Now that I'm sitting here, sleepy, I don't have the energy to go through tons of entries and delete them, so I'll do that another day. But they're going, one of these days. It just makes me feel awkward around them. (Speaking of awkward...my sister and boyfriend are rolling around on the bed, watching The Golden Girls. His noxious, spoiled-tomato-sauce stench is filling the air.) Lots of stuff has happened, none of it particulary important or exciting. I invited a bunch of people to my "gradua-birthday" on April 30th, went to another KEEP practice last night (where I gave my opinions on some of their new songs), called Lindamood Bell, a tutoring clinic looking for full-timers (they said they're setting up interviews this week), bought a very sleek black Rampage blazer from the thrift store for $3.99, and cleaned my room for two and a half hours. My neck is feeling better, but it hurts-- just not to the point of ruining my day. I'm doing these neck roll and shoulder shrug exercises and I'm actually amazed that they ease the tension. Please, everyone reading this-- do not hunch forward to read the monitor. You will be sorry. Invest in a chair that adjusts to conform to your back. Oh my...I'm finding my entries lack continuity lately. Oh, well. |
