Comfortable With Conformity

I tried my hand at a difficult yoga pose for me, The Plough. http://www.rivermaya.com/plough.html

If you didn't click on that link, the pose is basically balancing your whole body on your butt, and tucking your legs over your head. Ouch. I can't quite get my legs all the way over, but I can balance on my butt and stick my legs straight up, so that's something. I'm not sure how long you're supposed to hold it, I guess as long as it feels comfortable. And I must admit, I'm not really sure what holding a pose is supposed to do for you. I'd better get to reading the Yoga Journal or something. I know it rushes the blood to your head and makes you feel calm, but I don't know why. I think it's really fascinating.

I made my first steak tonight, compliments of the George Foreman grilling cookbook. It came out a little tough and chewy, which I hate. My family raved about it, and I think they were actually being sincere. I kept saying, "Don't humor me. My feelings won't be hurt. If you don't like it, tell me."

I made plans with Jan tonight, but no word from her yet. I guess I could always spend the night trying to hold poses, with the candles lit and Bjork on-- with my dad playing video poker at my desk.
