Comfortable With Conformity

August 14th Tuesday My sister never ceases to amaze me. You should've heard her yesterday-- it was priceless. She forgot, once again, to submit the financial aid forms, so my parents will have to lay out $800 for her classes this term until the late financial aid check comes in. My parents were justifiably angry that she forgot again. My sister said, "But you didn't remind me!" That was her defense. It was their fault because they didn't remind her. She went on to defend herself, never once taking responsibility. "YOU'RE the ones who deal with all that financial aid stuff. YOU should've told me. I forgot!" My parents don't have $800 to shell out, so my sister is using her credit card. She even said, "I don't know how to register for financial aid! YOU'RE always in charge of that! I don't even have a bank account! I don't even know how to open one!" My sister is the queen of not taking responsiblity for her actions. It's amazing. I sat there, watching this display of denial, absolutely amazed. She's a fucking child. A 24 year old fucking child. Sadly, I used to be exactly the same way. |
