Comfortable With Conformity

August 19th Sunday evening I saw Legally Blonde with my mom this afternoon. Bad movie. I like Reese Witherspoon, but this was a really sucky role. Then we went to the Salad Scene in the food court and got served by a rude cashier. My mom "had words" with her. For once, I wasn't embarrased. My mom used to argue with every salesperson I can remember growing up, and I would cower in shame. Her famous words were, "I want to talk to your manager." But as I'm getting older, I'm finding that she argues less and less, as if she's losing her egde, so I was glad she told the Salad Scene bitch off. I want to talk about what happened last night, but S reads this diary and I'm afraid. He's out of town, and I feel like I should share this with him first before writing it for a mass audience. I'll just say it involves sexual activity for money, via ifriends.com, the webcam business Jan does from her home, the one I mentioned a few entries ago. I did some...stuff. Nothing too raunchy, in fact 99% of it was totally feigned. The other 1% I'm a little embarrased by. I whored myself for $35 last night, and I earned it. I actually wish my sister wasn't away. It's bad enough that I'm bored and lonely, but without her, I'm really bored and lonely. S called me two times today from South Carolina and two times I missed the call cause I was out. I miss him. I'm thinking about the job again. It's all that's been on my mind since I interviewed for it. My dad scoffed, "If they haven't called by now, forget it" but I have faith that they will call. I'm wondering if I should call them and ask them if they'd made a decision, but I don't think I can be that bold. What would I say? "Hi, uh, this is ______. I was calling to ask if you filled the position for office assistant yet?" or "Hi, this is ______, and I interviewed last week and was wondering if you made a decision yet?" Everything sounds so lame to me. I can't make a call like that. It's humiliating. Well, I've got a dull Sunday night to look forward to. Please please please please please let them call tomorrow. |
