Comfortable With Conformity

September 24th I went to Orlando this past weekend with my friends (and I use the term "friends" loosely). We went to Wet 'n' Wild, which is a water park. The whole time I kept feeling like I was invisible, competing for attention with Jan, who talked non-stop about the boy she has a crush on (A TWELVE year old boy who she teaches. She's a teacher. Plus she went on and on about this in front of her doormat of a boyfriend.). I also had to endure Jan saying every couple of minutes to her boyfriend, "David, can you get me a drink?", "David, can you rub my feet?". "David, can you wipe my ass?" It was non-stop the whole trip. Jan talks in this quiet, sweet, flirtatious voice when she wants something which makes it doubly annoying. There's only so much Jan I can take. The good parts of the trip included our time at Wet 'n' Wild. I love water slides, but not the scary ones, like the one that shoots straight down. I prefer the curving slides that you on a raft with other people. The seven hours we spent at Wet 'n' Wild was definitely the highlight of the trip. We went to Sizzler for lunch and Jerry was driving me fucking NUTS, making sure I ate my money's worth. He kept piling his plate with food and was upset when I only ate a little bit. If there's one thing that makes me sick, it's overeating. Unless it's a box of Godiva chocolates, I never overeat. I'm the kind of person who walks away hungry from Thanksgiving dinner. I never stuff myself-- that's just sick. Marie and Edward, two friends Jan met over the internet, came along on the trip. Marie is only 18 and a lesbian. Edward has a lazy eye. 'nuff said. I'm sure Jan has "done stuff" with Marie, although, since no one tells me anything, I can never be sure. My fucking sex-crazed friends. Jerry and his brother Matt fucking FORCED me to shower with them and my sister to "save time". It wasn't sexual in the least, I'm a fucking prude compared to these people. It was just nudity, nothing more, although Matt kept rubbing up against me. I was pissed I couldn't take a shower alone, and it showed. I was pissed the whole trip. I was uncharacteristically reserved and moody. The only other good part of the trip was going to City Walk and eating at Latin Quarter. We got a pitcher of sangria and I ordered the best Cuban sandwich I have ever had. (Later, though, I had to take Alka Seltzer so I could get to sleep.) So what have I learned from this? To never go on a trip with Jan and Jerry again. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I'm getting cranky, but I don't like group showering or making whipped cream bikinis anymore. My idea of a good trip is wholesome fun, like going to Epcot and cuddling in the hotel bed with S. I'm sick of getting drunk and stupid and naked. I'm seriously considering joining a gym. I am disgustingly overweight and under-attractive. I was the only girl on the trip wearing a one-piece bathing suit. I think joining a gym will give me that boost of motivation I need. My computer is still broken, so I'm writing this here at work. I miss my computer dearly. I hate Macs. |
