Rush was the first band I was obsessed with. It's funny to think about it now, but back then I had to do the work to collect their albums and arrange them in chronological order in my Caselogic cassette case. I saw them in San Diego in 88 with Mr. Big, and again in 91 with Primus. They sounded better live than on the record, and the only deviations were carefully planned.
Celebrity deaths don't usually phase me, but I shed some tears for Neil yesterday. He was the kind of guy who could read Ayn Rand for inspiration and manage to keep it positive. I don't believe in life after death, but the thought of him being reunited with his wife and daughter makes me hope I'm wrong. Rest in peace Professor.
