Where do you see the future of online file exchange going? In the beginning the best way (and sometimes still is) to exchange files or large amounts of data was via ftp sites or dcc irc connections. Now we are seeing a trend of online file sharing communities popping up. If we are to continue working with these "file sharing" communities what do you predict for the future of them? Will one company control the community and some how and monopolize off banner ads, pay per access, etc? Will we see multiple communities that utilize strong encryption (ala filetopia)?IP: Logged |

I be not sure.. I think that eventually one good service will strike a deal with major companies and have a partnership, so it'll be PPA. However, ftp and dcc will still be used. One thing that I find funny about this Napster/file-sharing thing. The more time that these type of things get put under the spotlight, the more that people will use them and make clones of them. So it's a futile effort to attempt to stop these things.IP: Logged |

I am not to sure about the future of it , I am still learning the present .
I have been trying to use Filetopia . The downloads off the search engine never work for long downloads. I have been informed the best way to get a good download there , is to go into the chat room and talk to people there . Then arrange an agreement for downloading from them .
I have also experimented with Bearshare , but have not quite figured it out. If anyone can give me a tip I would appreciate it.IP: Logged |

Yeah I've never had any luck with the search feature in filetopia. I use filetopia more when I want to just hunt around for something random.IP: Logged |
