Hey eod- thanks for the vote. Actually, that's how all my best stuff gets done at work. The creative director basically gives me a screenshot (made in illustrator) of what he wants it to look like, and all the grafix used, and I put it together and make it fly. As for the site- I like the colors, but the design in general is kind of, well, flat. Obviously the posts need to take up most of the real estate-- but crowding text around them... dulls everthing. I guess it needs some shape. I like the monitor logos tho. The poster would just choose one (or none) when posting. I got my flash expandable-menu-from-xml working, basically. I like the idea of collabsible menus alot, because I just don't dig the long-row-of-text method of grouping links, a la slashdot. No-one reads more than two. Check bbspot's slashdot site blender if you don't believe me. An example of a site that does links in a way I like would be http://www.ultrashock.com/ - the menu across the top. Very compact, a lot of links, and it isn't readily apparent which part of the site is flash and which is html. That is why it is usually better to make a screenshot and plan functionality first, and then decide which parts should be html and which flash. The guidelines being:
[ul][li] HTML- static things... things that must be very legible... things that should flow downwards in the brower...
[li]FLASH - things that move, animate, resize... things that should be very cross-platform...
[/ul]
And, to sum up, if it basically involves movement, getting textual or xml data from an ini file, rollovers, popups, and if you provide me the images required or screenshots, I can do it. Actually, no reason why the banner with post name, time, etc, couldn't be flash as well. Flash filesizes are, in general, rediculously small. The banner currently at the top of the penIs page is smaller (in kb) than either of the tiny penIs animated gif89s. [/lecture] -fen ------------------

Ok.- I strongly disagree with the way you cluttered up the right side of the page. It's ugly. We need more roooom. -The penismightierlogo is just getting the same look as it has now. Lets try to be a little different. Do the capital thing and the only the P orange. It's nice that way. I don't know what you guys like about the non-capital stuff. It's just ugly. And the whole logo orangje is just too much in my opinion. Don't go crazy with the orange. - I could agree with all the topics on the right and clean things up. - The use of times is just a no no. It's proven that arial and such read best on internetpages. Especially with alot of content. - I still have to disagree with people to put somthing on top. It just doesn't go with the design... If you still want something on top. Put the logo there too, otherwise it just doesn't make sense. I really thought about the design boys, it's my job. Like you should. Don't throw just stuff randomly on it. - The problem with a chatroom is, that some of you people, like me, are wide awake on times most are sleeping. It's called timezones. I live on the otherside of the world as some of you might figured out. - The banners go on the same place as they are now. On the bottom. - I'm gonna sit this out for a while... I hope not you all go on a 'designing' spree and come with the same kind of page this is now. - Again. Don't fuck up the logo please.... - I've seen badassmofo for the first time today. That's a totaly different site...

Ok you whiny bitches. I'm a softy...Implied most of your suggestions.
I couldn't find a way yet to put the monitors in. But they are OK with me. http://www.iloop.nl/penis/penis2/ - top is all flashy. It can ofcourse be more dynamic, but didn't feel like flashing today 
- All made for 800x600...

No need to get cranky, Faran.Btw, the banners don't go "on the bottom" now - one's "above the fold", meaning it must be visible without the user so much as touching a scrollbar, and the other's "below the fold". Trust me when I tell you that hosting will get yanked QUICK if the above-the-fold banner doesn't show - once a Bla-Bla rep decided to type in "www.jimbosworld.com" - which isn't me, it's a domain name squatter hoping I'll pay him m4d cr4z33 c45h for the domain - and upon seeing no banners, immediately fired me a nasty email saying my hosting was getting yanked in 24 hours. I'm not cranky, just disagreeing with a couple of things. maybe I sound harsh, but I don't mean it.
Remade the site already dude. The stupid thing is, I never noticed the top banner 'till now. That's filtering for ya
Excuse me, but I don't pay attention to banners anymore. We have to put it in the same place I guess. Or make room for it above. I don't know. Going to take my mind of it now for a while... Grz FaRaN IP: Logged |

Fen: Now I think the top bar from the ultrashock site is awesome. I think that'd work perfect with pen. A small out of the way menu at the top.. Faran: I think since most computer interfaces with a gui have an interface at the top, people automagically look up to the top for some sort of menu. Maybe you can shed some light on this (I imagineit comes up in your design classes) BTW Thank you everyone for all the hard work.. Faran,fen and Psyci, all your extra time into this kicks ass.
