Joey Ramone died today. For those of us who grew up listening to The Ramones, this is a bummer. I happen to be stuck in the early 80's, so punk rock is still one of my favorite genres.

You know what really sucks? Andre the Giant died. Yeah yeah, I know all you hosers are gonna say that was years ago, but it came as news to my girlfriend today, as we enjoyed the Princess Bride.

Now, if that movie ever dies, then I will publicly weep. Then, and only then.

Who are the Ramones??? What? Blasphemy!!! The Ramones were the founders of punk music. They began in 1976, and everyone after that copied their style. I bet those midi files just rock the house. I never understood peoples obsession with midis. It sounds like my little cousin got his casio keyboard out of the closet and starting playing some cover songs.

Oh yeah, midis suck. But The Ramones are one of the bands that can no longer be exchanged on Napster, and I couldn't find another site with the songs. If you don't wanna listen to the midis, go buy a cd. (or change a couple of letters in the name and you might be able to find them somewhere).

The Ramones debuted in 1974, in New York. They toured England in 76, and The Clash was born after that, late 76 I believe. The Ramones were first. This quote is from SonicNet:

The Ramones AND the Clash had a lot to do with the whole punk era, but don't forget Social Distortion (Mike Ness), Sonic Youth and all those greats. They're all good bands. Sad to hear of your loss...
