I was walking towards the bus stop, when lo and behold, there's Jorge coming towards me on a bike!!! So as he got to my side, I punched him in the face.
I feel like such an ass. It wasn't Jorge.
Dude grabbed a fistful of my shirt, pulled me toward him and asked me why the FUCK I punched him.
Oh, shit... I am SO sorry! I apologized over and over. Told him to punch me back... he didn't. I told him he looks JUST like my ex. (Same hair pulled back, glasses, even the same missing tooth! I'M SO SORRY!)
He looked around the ground for his glasses. I got down on my knees screaming "Shit, shit, shit! I'm SO sorry!"
Then I started to cry. I told him I really hate my ex and he looks JUST like him. They could be twins.
I guess when I started to cry, it made HIM feel bad. This man APOLOGIZED for grabbing me the way he did. Well, hell! If you got some crazy lady punching you for no good reason, you want to find out why? And why the HELL didn't he hit me back?
Well, first of all, he says, it was a girl hit. (I got to work on that, then.) Second of all, he knew the police would arrest him.
Egads.... I am SUCH an idiot. But I owe him a coffee. Ok, deal.
I have issues.

Now stop laughing and pity me.

Hmm... I wonder what I'll dream tonight?

What else do you want? Ice cream? A shoulder to cry on? A good rogering? I'm out of ideas here.

Hell yeah, as long as it's a "girl hit" that's nothing but cool. Gives you something to post on your website when you get home.

Amazon,

If punching a guy off his bike means you get to go out to coffee with him, I'd start aiming for the cute ones.

That said, I have a couple exes I wouldn't mind spontaneously knocking on their asses. I almost have to admire your balls for even considering such a course of action.

But still, why let some rotten ex ruin your life post-relationship?

I STILL don't know... you think after 2 years I'd get over it... Nope, I'm still bitter... I'm so bitter I need salt and lemons to get back to normal.
(Sigh)... the ass just hurt me really bad. I have forgiven him for leaving me, but I cannot and will not forgive him for making me look a fool.

Amazon,

Yeah, but while you're driving yourself nuts not forgiving him, you're clocking innoncent dopplegangers. And you really don't need to forgive him. Just fuck him if he didn't realize what he had in you. His loss.

Guys can be incredibly stupid and insensitive. If we beat ourselves up over every poor choice they make in relationships, we'd never leave the house. My last boyfriend, who was 26 and should have known better, dragged me along for several months longer than he should have. I finally found out he wanted to break up when he told me on about December 28 he was going to a New Year's Eve party and would be back around 1am. And he didn't want me to go. So not only did he ruin my plans for ringing in the new year, he couldn't even muster the balls to be honest months before when it could have saved me some angst. Boy, I really lit into him for that. Sat him down and told him point by point the proper way to handle a relationship with a woman. And if he wasn't mature enough to be honest, he damn well ought to stay out of a relationship until we was. I put the fear into him, let me tell you.

Just don't let some asshole ruin your life without even being there. Your anger isn't having the slightest effect on HIM.

I'm so glad I don't have to date any more. I met my husband while studiously ignoring my ex-boyfriend at a Christmas party (we dated for about a year and a half, he screwed up my life for 6 months after he dumped me for a girl I'd been friends with since kindergarten). He had just broken up with the girl he dumped the girl he dumped me for, and wanted to 'talk.' So I turned my back on him and started talking to the guy sitting to my left. And the next night we went to another party together. And the month after that we moved in together. And 10 months after that we got married. And we still are. Definitely go to coffee with the guy, maybe he'll be a better guy than your ex. But get him to wear contacts and change his hair, so you won't consistently think of your ex when he's around.

((Banging head against desk))
Dammit, Dammit, Dammit... You are all right, of course... Well, except something Bitchgoddess said... (Why would i ask ANYBODY to change? Can't be done, and my ex is proof of that.)
Anyway... You are all right... Get over it and move on. Easy to say, VERY difficult to do. ((sigh))
Maybe it's time to go back to therapy.

Amazon,

Oh yeah, at least from my perspective "Do as I say, not as I do". While it seems pretty simple to say to hell with him and move on, it's not that easy in practice. But still, anger and grudges and fury only hurt you. He doesn't even know about it. Whatever his reasons were for leaving you, it doesn't mean you're less of a person, or he suddenly noticed something that proves you're simply awful. It means he has bad judgement and he's an ass. So find someone who appreciates you. And learn to appreciate yourself.

I went almost three years without dating anyone after I got divorced. I thought I was ok shortly after leaving my husband and in retrospect, I was out of control. I left HIM and it still messed me up. It takes time. But the best thing about being single was discovering I'm actually pretty interesting, and now I do things that interest me and hope I find someone who likes the same things. It's not easy, because I'm weird, but sometimes you get lucky.

Oh, absolutely... I am alone right now by choice. I know I have these issues to deal with first, so I am trying to work on them before I try any kind of new relationship.

I do, however, have an ad on Yahoo.... for what, you ask? Looking for two men. OH YEAH! No strings.

I think you misunderstood me, I didn't mean make him change, wearing contacts and parting your hair on the left instead of the right does nothing to anyone's inner self. It was mostly just joking though, if he's a good guy after a while he'll cease to remind you of the ex and you'll begin wondering why you thought it was him in the first place, why does everyone take everything I say so seriously?

Whoa... um...
Well.
-Er....
Damn girl. I dont know how to respond to that. I really dont.

Yet, somehow I feel that some response is required in the "male code" in order to defend my honor and dispell any myths.

Of course the "male code" keeps getting me black eyes, so I'll just walk away from this one until my eyes stop bugging out and making such excellent targets.

Anyway, on to other things.

Because there is no cues in the message to tell us that you are in any way NOT being completely serious. Should we just take everything you say to be in jest?

Also: I've been dating Bex for over 3 years...and I am still "strongly urged" not to play certain songs, use certain phrases, or grow a beard. Why do you ask? Because of previous relationships.

Now..I'm not forbidden from doing these things...I just have to endure the nasty look and the "you know, such and such used to do that right before he -----" etc. periodically.

In the mean time, I'm going to go and play some Rush while I "take a leak" and not shave for the weekend.
Damn... I could play some Metallica or Quote Larry Niven randomly too I guess.

You see, those of us who don't live within a block of tim and weis didn't know that anyone was dating anyone else on this board except for tim and sara.

Does everyone here know each other? Any other degrees of separation I should know about?

Ok... Let me try to put it in a simple, easy to read guide... If I leave out anyone/thing let me know.

Who's Screwing Who:
Or: Why do those people keep using first names?

1) Eod-Sara: Everyone should have known this (OR)
2) Clme-Bex: See above (WI)
3) Mightymon-koko: Shagging. (OR)
4) Zippy: Look for the Zipster in alt.binaries (OZ)

Ok, the shagging connection breaks down here.
5) MrSelfDestruct: Brings many frat buddies into the penIs board. (WI)
6) Bitchgoddess: Knows Eod, etc (WA)
7) Amazon: Likes Anal, punches men (FL)
8) Weis: Pen Poster, lives near eod (OR)
9) Biggles: Likes cats.

Yeah...I think that sums it up.

Gosh, BitchGoddess... I never mean to make people uncomfortable, so no, I did not take you LITERALLY. I just didn't agree with what you said about contacts and hair... Oh, let's drop it and call it Sally.

Sara... (blushing and am well pleased) I am your most loyal reader? Gosh gee willikers, thanks. I do check back more than once a day. I think everyone that posts on the main page is intelligent.

Um... You forgot Puzzling who really hasn't posted much anymore, but every so often he pops in. Can't wait to meet him when he goes on his road trip. HE'S a really smart guy.

You know, Clme, just because Bex fantasizes about a two-man threesome doesn't necessarily mean she's gonna go drag two in off the street and bang 'em while you're out. Or present you with a hairy mechanic and say "meet Moe, our new 'partner'."

Kee-rist man, loosen up.

The problem wasn't the fantasy she was having...

It was where she posted the fantasy to begin with.

Personally though, I dont think she was kidding
