He is a badass... He won the batting title for his leage ALL SEVEN seasons he played here in Japan, even his rookie year. He stole a homer from someone the other day, didn't he?However, his team wasn't that strong. He was second in popularity to a home-run king named Matsui, who plays for the tokyo giants, who spend WAY more money on salaries than any other team, and so, naturally, win the series most years. I read somewhere that Japanese bats are allowed to be a little heavier than American ones, but Ichiro has used a bat that meets American standards for all his time in Japan, so that he could someday play in America without adjusting. He did cheat on his wife tho. fen

Oh yah, Ichiro is a badass. He has a 13 game hitting streak going right now and the M's are better off with him than they were with Griffey or Arod.But fen, what's the deal, I heard that some Japanese Newspaper offered $1 million for a pic of Ichiro naked, so he can't dress at his locker at the games, for fear of the media selling him out. Is Japan really that freaky?

While listening to BJ Shea on the Buzz this week I heard some stuff about the nekkid pic thing. Apparently a Japanese tabloid is offering $1 million for a bare ass Ichiro photo. BJ Shea is encouraging Photoshop users to manufacture some for use on the yahoo e-group dedicated to his show. Preferably with the body a different color than Ichiro, that might be pretty funny. I still have not seen this guy, I don't care for baseball in the slightest, so I don't follow it. Football is better. IP: Logged |
