Yes, it is already summer here in Florida. The temp has already reached a cool 90 degrees, *BUT* it doesn't get bad until... oh, next month, I guess. The humidity often reaches 100%. This is the time when you walk outside and get totally soaked within 2 minutes, and it isn't even raining.As for mosquitos... eat plenty of GARLIC. Skeeters don't like it and generally stay away from those who eat it in excess. Women get bit by skeeter more often than men. They go for estrogen, so women must eat as much garlic as possible... However, you must also buy bulk in toothpaste, breath freshener, mints and perfume. Good deoderant is a good idea too.
If you have dragonflies in your area, remember they are our FRIENDS. Dragonflies eat skeeters. ------------------

if you eat tons of garlic, mosquitos arent the only things that will be staying away from you. of course, this is already the case for some people, so lots of garlic wont make things any worse.i've never gone skinny dipping. so sad. IP: Logged |

You have to go skinny dipping on one of those hot summer nights where it is so humid there is fog drifting everywhere and it's still about 80 degrees at night. Then the cool water is refreshing and when you get out, it doesn't freeze your bits.I've also heard that taking B-Vitamins repels mosquitos. My latest response is to douse myself in DEET and wear a mosquito net over my head when I garden. I look odd, smell bad and will probably grow a third eye sometime soon, but at least it keeps the majority of mosquitos off me. I can sit outside with people who don't notice a single mosquito and I get HUGE welts everywhere. I got bit on the lip once and it looked like Clme had been beating me. I love heat, humidity, sudden thunderstorms, flowers, bugs, everything. But I HATE mosquitos. Oh, and ticks. - (Can't wait to go camping!) Bex
