Oh yes, how could I have forgotten the Simpsons and Malcom??? Fox rules. The X-Files were my absolute until The Sopranos rocked their world. Now, Northern Exposure was one of the best, most original shows in the nineties. I loved that show. So, I guess there aren't only three of my favorites. Depends on my mood. And I watch "Win Ben Stein's Money" almost daily, too. Fuck this. I can't pick three. Later.

this should only be among current running shows.

once a show hits syndication it has nostalgia going for it, which could raise it higher, or you can't remember why you ever liked it which sinks it down.

the only fair comparisons are between contemporaries.

Hmm given that I hardly ever watch tv..

1) Frasier - which sounds odd but I'm addicted.
2) That 70's Show - when I remember to watch.
3) The Simpsons

... All my favorite stuff is in the past. Max Headroom and My So-Called Life particularly.

Hmmm.

Completely unrelated (surprise!) but the main page reminded me.. I heard a rumor that Stephen Hawking was getting his little voice synthesizer changed to an english accent.

It seems that most of us are into That 70's Show. If we are talking about best shows of all time... that's a whole different list entirely, and no way could I narrow it down to three. Lemme try anyway...

1. Black Adder (Rowan Atkinson is the best)
2. Monty Python
3. The Young Ones

Pretty bad that all my favorites are British, but damn, they're funny.

Rowan is the man. I remember when me and my friend went to see the Mr. Bean movie in a crappy theatre. We had this drunk as a skunk lady next to us. At the part where he gets flipped off and thinks that's what American's do, she got up and shouted "Wave like Mr. Bean does!" and gave everyone the finger. It was great. She didn't stop right after she did it.. she KEPT doing it.. after the movie was done, and after we were outside... it so so hilarious...

Anyways, ROWAN IS THE MAN

Tsunamitsu - CKY was first, then CKY2K came out, at least that's what my friend said. There was a news story about these 3 teenagers in NE that tried to get on Jackass. Now, this is the funny part. One of the teens stood on the side of the road with a camera. One waiting in the middle of the road. The last was to drive a car. The plan was for the kid in the middle of the road to jump over the speeding car. Before I go on, I must say a few things. Fucking idiots... and I didn't know a body could go that high. Ok, the car came at the kid. The kid jumped, cleared the hood of the car. His legs hit the windshield, his torso smashed into the front of the roof, his head smashed against the end of the roof. His body went about 10+ feet into the air, he did a few flips, and landed. The news showed the tape. It was so funny. The family wanted to sue Jackass for promoting this kind of stuff. Jackass, for those who don't know, has a disclaimer at the beginning of the program... textual and spoken. So, they won't get anywhere. The cops, are going to charge the driver and the videotaper for somethng though. They also showed this 12 year old who doused himself in lighter fluid and lit himself on fire... thinking it'd go out right away. They also showed this video. This one was VERY funny. The kid is on fire, and he's running around his yard screaming. He's pulling at his shirt. When he runs by the camera, you can see his clothing starting to melt onto him. He runs and cannonballs into a pool. Quite funny. Those parents are also trying to sue Jackass. I know what's going to happen there. Jackass is TV-M (I think).. so why was this 12 year old watching?

Anyway, I like Rocko's Modern Life. That show owned. Iron Chef is cool, I love the dramatic music in the opening, and then the main guy takes a bite from a pepper. That's the -MOST- dramatic thing that's EVER been on TV.

Cheesy it may be, but I still get happy watching OLD episodes of MST 3K.

And Are You Being Served? for some reason. Fawlty Towers, Ab Fab. Monty Python's Flying Circus. British humor is so funny.

Fuck I miss MST3K.

If anyone is coming to Japan, bring me some MST3K. Old ones, with Joel, preferably.

Especially the "Trumpy, No!" one.

Or the one that starts
"Where the hell am I?"
"You're the hell here."

Alltime favorite MST3K Line:

[Pan camera along grimy, depressing booze joint bar. Pause at bartender dispiritedly polishing a glass in front of a young man and his somewhat skanky-looking companion.]

Crow: "Bartender, can you freshen my date?"

Fuck that slays me.

Zippy, That's My Bush is a new show on Comedy Central, Wednesdays at 9pm pacific time. It's a spoof of the George Bush white house, the guy playing dubbya looks exactly like him, it's scary. Just like an 80's sitcom, complete with sassy maid and wacky next door neighbor. Hilarious.
