I don't know if any of you read ThinHLine, but it's been down for a ridiculously long amount of time. Does anyone knows exactly what the Hell happenned to him and his site?

I read his site regularly, and I think I know what happened, well, kinda.

You see, Clay (the creator) lost his webspace (again) and needed a place to crash his data. Ironically, Stileproject offered and he was hosted there for quite a while.

During one of the many fiascos Stile had with something (cant remember which one) he had to take the webserver down for awhile. During this interim, ThinHLine was down as well.

When stile came back up, ThinHLine.com merely routed back to stileproject.com. Eventually even that evolved into a dead link. Beyond that, ThinHLine hasn't returned, and no word from Clay.

I also happen to read "T.A. Vision", a comic much like Clay's made my Clay's friend. They both co-write a comic called "Saturday Morning Coffee." Neither site has mentioned ThinHLine going down OR coming back.

Well, THL is dead.

I caught this on Tang's Forum:

In Reply to: Commentary on THL posted by DwarfRage on April 30, 19101 at 20:14:00:

: To the Readers of THL:
: Can I just please request as a lurker that we stop worrying about THL? Sure I'd love it back as soon as the next guy. However, there would have to be good reasons to drop it as quickly as was done.

Yes, you're right. There are hundreds of web comics out there. I'm sure there are enough out there that you'll forget about the THL.

: To the Artist of THL:
: Now I understand your irritation at the illegal posting of your material, and I do not know why you stopped publishing. I can make several intelligent guesses, but I'm probably wrong. If you want to end the controversy you could tell us. However, I figured you would have done that all ready if it wasn't something personal/legal.

Right again. I won't say much, but I will say this: the THL made an unexpected and unwelcome appearance in my professional life. That's why I took it down so suddenly, and that's why there aren't archives or even a notice. It had to disappear without a trace. This is why I'll also fight tooth and nail anyone who tries to put up an archive site.

: So all I want to say is:
: Thanks for providing us some humor about the one thing that American culture refuses to take humorously: Sex.

Thank you ... I hope to continue my line of thought in Sunday Morning Coffee with Tang. It was always fun doing THL, even if I never really had the time for it, and I am happy that I was able to give a few people a good laugh. Good laughs are too hard to come by.

Cheers
Clay
