Help! I am not a big "gamer" but do enjoy them. I am about to finish No One Lives Forever and am looking for something new. What about Black and White? Tribes 2? How about some ideas?

Well, if you wanna be a gamer....There are basically two types of gamers: 1. Those who play hundreds of games (which means you read reviews, whenever a game comes out that gets a decent review, or people are excited about, go try it out). In that case there are so many game review sites out there that it's easier to read them for reviews than ask the masses here. 2. Those who play a very small handful of games, for hundreds of hours. This is a much cheaper option (well, until you start craving new hardware to support your addiction). What it means is you go buy Half-Life (or Tribes, Quake 3, Unreal Tourney... but I wouldn't put my name on any of those), and play multiplayer online mode for many many many hours. Really depends on your budget and your personality. Personally, I say go get Half-Life, download Counter-Strike, and play 'till your heart's content. IP: Logged |

I have Half-Life and loved it. Counter Strike was the sequel? What about it online? Never tried it cause I didn't want to get my ass kicked!------------------

Counter-Strike is a FREE add-on for Half-Life. It's a team-based, semi-realistic Terrorist vs. Counter-Terrorist game, and a LOT of fun. Download it at http://www.counter-strike.net
It's well worth it. And of course you'll get your ass kicked. Everyone who plays it the first few times gets his/her ass kicked. Totally normal. So do yourself a favor fletcher, and check it out. IP: Logged |

No no no. CS is a HL mod. A complete conversion. There is no one-player mode. It's all done on-line. Browse on over to http://www.planethalflife.com/cs/ for all essential info and files. be careful, the CS1.1 install file is a whopping 85 megs, so it'll take a while if you're on dialup.------------------

Yeah depends what kinda game your looking at spending some time with. Personally I try to stay away from games like TFC/CS or any of the 3d shooters (unreal, q3, etc). I find that I get hooked and as mentioned play hours upon hours of it online.A good game would be b&w you can pick it up and play a bit and leave at anytime. I'm really enjoying b&w, who would of thought being god was so hard? IP: Logged |
