Alright all you Evercrack, TFC, Quake, or CS addicts. This one is for you:
1)What is the longest marathon period you have ever spent in front of the computer playing a game.
2)What was the game?
Having a shared computer since the old Wolfenstein days, the longest I can report is 12 hours on Wolf3d I've come damn close on Trade Wars for the BBS. God I miss the BBS. -Chris IP: Logged |

i can go twelve hours on a newly acquired rpg easy. did so on fallout and torment. maybe ff7.longest i've spent on a single player shooter was maybe 6 hours. it usually doesn't take me longer than that to get ragingly pissed off and not touch it again for a week. 4 hour tribes multiplayer rampages are not uncommon. longest i've seen anyone go on tribes was over 18 hours straight. Good god, I can't begin to tell you how many consecutive hours I've spent playing various RPG's. I'm pretty sure I spent 90% of my conscious time for more than a week on Pool Of Radiance, back in the day.IP: Logged |

Granted, these are rough estimates, but close enough:RPG's: 29 hours - Final Fantasy III - SNES
(after I beat it I played it again, btw. heh. This was the best RPG I ever played.) 26 hours - Final Fantasy IX 6-12 - Other Final Fantasy titles 11 hours - Breath of Fire II - SNES 9 hours - Chrono Trigger - SNES 7 hours - Pool of Radiance 6 hours - Medievia (MUD) I'm currently holding a record of 5 hours while beta-testing Dark Age of Camelot.
Other Games:
10 hours - Counterstrike 10 hours - Deus Ex 14 hours - Master of Orion (original) 8 hours - Black and White 36 hours - Myth: the Fallen Lords, and Myth II. (LAN Gatherings with my clan. www.clanplaid.net) Many others, but thats off the top of my head. IP: Logged |

Mud: BatMud and ZombieMud.. I've been known to pull about 38 hours before sleeping for a few while the big monsters and mud resets and getting back up.Muds are bad.. very very bad. IP: Logged |

Diablo 2.
My roomate and I played it through the whole of normal mode.
I think it must have taken us at least 18 hours.
My friend Ben sat on our futon and played FF9 for the same 18 hours.

oh god! i remember diablo 2 now. i think i had blocked out the memory.when i moved back to school last time, we didnt get our adsl set up for about a week. so natch, i installed diablo2 and started playing it because there was nothing else to do. i played it SO much that i overdosed. i overdosed on a game. i started to have dreams (read: nightmares) in diablo2-a-vision. i would see myself walk around in an 3/4 isometric view inside the dream. i WAS the barbarian. oh god, i hope that never happens again. the last time i overdosed on a game was super mario brothers 1 on the nintendo. that was my first console and my first video game. i'll tell ya, there is NO worse dream than seeing orange mario locked in a brown brick room with only two green pipes in it. but the pipes dont do anything, so mario just keeps jumping from one pipe to the other, but he misses sometimes and lands on the floor, only to continue the torture for what seems like hours. add sound effects, simmer all night, and enjoy. i still shudder at that memory IP: Logged |
