Yeah right. I got up, went to the kitchen, got myself a beer, walked back to my desk, sat down, read this thread, and posted. No way that was under 30 secs. I formally protest!!! [This message has been edited by LaMFear (edited 05-09-2001).] IP: Logged |

it happens. if you're patient, it will let you post.the thing i find strange is when a thread gets corrupted and says: "you were caught trying to mess with the thread title" or something when i wasn't, then i couldn't post... IP: Logged |

No no no, I love the whole "Sorry, MightyMon, you cannot edit this post because it appears you are trying to hack the thread" or whatever bullshit message it was giving a while back. THat's pretty cool. And as for nuen, I'm gonna miss the little guy. Take care, nuen! Don't bend over in jail! ------------------ I live for a great halter-top. IP: Logged |

That sucks. Sucks alot. I, personally, wouldn't want to know why he was arrested. If they are shameful, he probably wouldn't want us to know. For all we know, he might think it'll lessen our view of him. IP: Logged |

Bah. Unless he's in jail for murder, rape, or child molestation I wouldn't care...and murder and rape can be forgiven with time. -Chris IP: Logged |

look at the kind of stuff i post. who am i to judge? therefore, i should be told what he got arrested for.i also get that thread hacking message, but it was only on that one grammar.cyd < grammar.yod thing. it might have to do with weird characters in the thread title itself IP: Logged |

Yup. That was why you got it - if you read the message closely, you'll notice that it actually says you appeared to be attempting to hack the thread title.Stupid UBB... lets you POST a thread with a title containing greater/lesser symbols, lets you REPLY to it, but doesn't let you edit a fucking message in it. Wtf? IP: Logged |

and anyway, back the the "arrest." Didn't neun say in his goodbye message that some friend of his always read the site but never posted?Wouldn't that lead anyone to think that this new thread was possbily started by neun's buddy having a laugh? Or did I not get the joke that you were all joking when you thought he was actualyl in jail? well nuentoter got arrested for software piracy and selling burn copies of many many games and appz. he was sellin em at school for 5 bucks a pop. he's in deep shit i think. but i am the friend he was talkin about, cuz he came over and told me about everything and said that he got a phone call from some federal agency asking him about the pirated software, he said he played dumb but he got arrested regardless cuz i guess he sold win2kpro to some kid that was told to buy it by the cops. DOH!That sounds a little more believable. And also like a really really bad idea. It's one thing to give away free copies of pirated software, but another thing entirely to make an industry of it. YIKES! I hope his parents can get him a good lawyer or we may not be hearing from him for a while..... ------------------ It is not enough to have a good mind; the main thing is to use it well. Eh.. it's not that shameful. Sucks none-the-less but its not that shameful. Everyone is guilty of software piracy... there has not been a person I have met that didn't install Quake or some other game on a friend's computer. But selling it...Selling software isn't as bad as selling guns to children and whatnot. Software makes money... guns make death. Hmmm... which is more important.. money.. or life? IP: Logged |

Hrrm.. Hope he's under 18. And incidentally, my advice (and I have some experience in such things) would be not to narc. For nuen, I mean, that's the first thing they'll try to get him to do... hopefully, by now he has a lawyer, who should be discussing some kind of first-offense probationary deal... I doubt he'd see hard time from this, but then again, I'm surprised they arrested and booked him without trying to get him to narc first. Good luck nuen, hope yer back on the TFC server soon.------------------ With proper thrust, pigs fly just fine. --RFC 1925 IP: Logged |

the only legal programs on my computer right now are the free ones (icq, winamp, win2k, etc) and Giants: Citizen Kabuto which i liked so much that i bought. everything else is warez. i try to keep a good ratio of 10:1 warez:legal programsIP: Logged |

If you view it as a ratio of apps:apps, my warez:legalprogs ratio is depressingly low...... but if you view it as monetary.value(warez):monetary.value(legal), dear sweet god does THAT ever bring it back into the realms of sweet, sweet reasonability. I just warez the EXPENSIVE shit, yo. IP: Logged |
