I stand by what I said, but I wasn't saying it to you, Peter.. just to the idea that poor spelling/grammar is above reproach. Which i thought was rather pathetic, but i definately agree that good spelling and proper grammer will increase the chances of someone understanding anothers writing. How about in japanese when you dont elongate a vowel that you should. I forget what word it is, but theres one in japn. that means scared, that sounds like another word. anyways.. i see your point. If you take any work with a long vowel and shorten the vowel, the chances are pretty high you'll have a different, but legitimate, word. Of course, Japan has no spelling- saying a word is the same as spelling it (that is, the word samurai is made of 4 characters- sa, mu, ra, and i). fen IP: Logged

Kill him!" But I think that's a trait of all in-bred messageboards/listservs/usenet threads, not just ours. That being said, I liked Wiggin's posts immensely, and probably would have liked them 1% more if the spelling were perfect. As for the grammar, if you can come up with an interesting freestyle that utilizes proper grammar, then you are something to behold. So why spend time criticizing the spelling or grammar of someone's posts when you can criticize the content? To that end, Fenomas, I think you'll find that Truman Capote said, "That's not writing, that's typing," of Kerouac's boast.
