Anyone here doing the Folding@home rather than Seti? I think this morning I will make the switch to Folding because it seems helping with cancer research might just be a little more important than looking for ET. If there is already an existing or someone is interested in making a penismightier team let me know. I will leave my current contribution of Seti's completed in the penis team stats. Thanks

Isnt folding where someone teamed up with Intel to develop the infostructure, then when the cure is found they are going to patent the information and charge very high prices to good people for the cure?

What?? After you used MY CPU cycles to find the cure, you want to charge me HOW MUCH????

Actually, if you read the fine print closely, folding is where they use more of your work units to "stress-test client websites" than to do actual protein folding.

Read the fine print. They can and do use your cycles for anything they want, not JUST the charity project.

I'm sticking with Seti.

Maybe the aliens I find (who else ) have cures against AIDS/cancer/arthritis/diabetes.
That would make folding@home useless.

yeah i think thats a good point LaMFear. I hope they have lightsabers too. I think id have to unite the human race against them in an attempt to become hegemon... or so its foretold.
