Go for the japanese import "Realm of the Senses", made in the mid 1930s. Definitely off the beaten path. That, or "Zardoz" starring Sean Connery. fen IP: Logged |

If you haven't seen at least one of the Evil Dead Trilogy, *especially* Army of Darkness, you don't diserve to be here. IP: Logged |

Just saw a new one that's come out - "Wonder Boys." It's bit more mainstream, but really good. Jesus what a question. OK, I am going to out myself as a film freak here: Off the top of my head... Rumblefish - Coppola, Cage, Dillon, Rourke, Fishburne, need I say more? Touch of Evil - Orson Welles directed what is basically the greatest B movie of all time. Also of note, Charlton heston plays a Mexican DA. Killing Zoe - Co-written by Tarantino, but feels less fakey and more fucked up. Also, I am an Eric Stoltz fan, and love bank robbery movies. Being There - Peter Sellers. One of the funniest men of all time. AKA the Pink Panther, but those are my least favorite of his movies. Wages of Fear - Foreign, black and white. Read what IMDb has to say if you want. But I would just rent it and be surprised and amazed at how insanely intense this movie is. All of these movies kick ass in their own way, if I think of more, and feel like it, I can post some more. enjoy! IP: Logged |

This kid's got taste AND intelligence! Good picks. I loved "Office Space." Very very funny. "Usual Suspects" rocked nuts. Among others... I also liked "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" Great film. Beautifully done. The Coen brothers can't make bad movies. Look for their other ones, cause I know they're prob good, just haven't seen them yet. Check out "North by Northwest" too. I could go on and on, but I won't ... heh heh------------------ One for sorrow two for joy Three for girls four for boys Five for silver six for gold Seven for a secret never to be told IP: Logged |

The only reason it became a B movie was because it was edited way beyond what Wells intended. This is most likely one of the finest suspsense/noir films I have ever seen in my entire life. I had the immense pleasure of seeing the true thing in its entirity, and I think I'm spoiled for life quote: Being There - Peter Sellers. One of the funniest men of all time. I love Peter Sellers. Being There is definitely one of the best I've had the pleasure to see. Top 10 material for me. quote: Wages of Fear - Foreign, black and white. Read what IMDb has to say if you want. But I would just rent it and be surprised and amazed at how insanely intense this movie is.
Oh man, I gotta see that now In terms of PW's picks, I agree that office space, casino, heat, ghost in the shell (a *must* for anime), ninja scroll (also a must) vampire hunter D, die hard, the george carlin stand up tapes, fight club, full metal jacket, and usual suspects (SEE IT) are all rental worthy.

American History X Rounders Brazil The Hidden Fortress Seven Samurai Better Off DeadIf I can think of any more I'll let you know. But you can't go wrong with Ed Norton, John Cusack, Terry Gilliam or Akira Kirosawa movies. For that matter Sam Raime, but he's already been mentioned here. IP: Logged |
