some of you have seen this, but for lack of a better shot of my setup:The speakers have since been updated, and I have a new SONY CD firewire CD burner under the monitor on the corner of the desk, but beyond that nothing has changed too much. Oh, and the Love Hina pencil board is now located somewhere else rather than leaning against the lamp, like most of other crap right now. I have to clean soon. Oh, an if you are easily observant, you'll notice a relic from early high school hiding behind my VHS bookshelf behind the lamp on the wall Spock lives, baby. heh. Oddly enough, my (shitty) video card just decided out of the blue that 1024x768 was the highest res that it needed to do anymore. I wish I had money. =(IP: Logged |

I like 1024 x 768. It's a happy medium. Okay, I'm just too lazy to want to pump up the sizes of all my fonts and crap. But I still like 1024 x 764 than...well...however high all the 1337-pHr33kZ here have it. IP: Logged |

1600x1200 @ 120Hz, baby... and on the 21" monitor, I don't need to pump up my fonts any. This is the size I like 'em. IP: Logged |

Well... I recently "upgraded" to a newer case than my old fire-hazard mini-tower. When I say upgraded... I mean that term rather loosely. My 300mgz machine has for the last month been residing inside a circa 1988 full tower with no 3.5" slots Yes, this beast at one time housed a state of the art 486-33 with 256 color display!

Of course this is a big improvement on the tower I had before... which can be seen pictured near the bottom of this page. Also notice the lack of side or bottom vents in that old power supply as well... not designed to actually like, move air or anything. Merely decoration dontchaknow.... *sigh* Yes, that is the same 17" monitor I melted through in order to install a cooling fan... -Chris [This message has been edited by Clme (edited 07-30-2001).] IP: Logged |

Heh - those pics of Biggles' were actually too big to fit in a browser window on my 1600x1200 desktop.Btw Clem - that's not a full tower bud. From the looks of it, it's not even a mid-tower - hard to tell with it laid over on its side and all the jpeg artifacts, but it looks like a mini-mid convertible case. (Full tower cases are at least 3 *feet* tall - sometimes taller.) IP: Logged |

Ok... Being the uneducated country bumpkin that eod likes to portray me as, I sit here thinking that anything higher than 2 feet is big enough to be considered a full tower. The dimensions? 2 feet tall x 20 inches deep x 7 inches wide. Yes, it can also be converted into a desktop unit, as I have recently done. You could run this thing over with a car and barely leave a mark. Plus it has filtered fans, which I really like. 3 cats and a dog in a carpeted apartment makes that a necessity. Plus, that little shitbox foot-tall mini-tin-foil-tower I had before made this one seem fucking huge.. I wouldn't have dared turned that one sideways and set a monitor on it... -Chris Yes... it is in fact a shitbox... but its been a damn nice shitbox that has given many many hours of quality time in the last few years IP: Logged |

You should all feel pretty damned good. I'm staying at my parents house at the moment, using a Gateway 2000 Family PC, pretty much stock, except that I pulled the 28.8 telepath and threw in a 56k telepath winmodem. I'm afraid to make any modifications to this sucker for fear that it will fall apart. Only one speaker is working properly, and Bob knows what's wrong with it. The drivers for the hardware installed on this thing no longer exist, and I don't really feel like putting the time and money into it to improve the situation. I have no idea what kind of processor it has in it, and I'm not sure I want to. Wish me luck on trying to talk dear old Dad into getting himself a real computer sometime soon. I'm having a bad month, who wants to go out and get shitfaced with me?IP: Logged |

Shitfaced = roXX0r. I'd post a pic of one of the four systems I've got here, but I'm too damn lazy. Figure that out.I support Biggles on the anime concept, but I'm not nerdy enough for Star Trek. And THAT IS WHY THE CHICKS DIG ME MORE BIGGIE!!!!111 Here's my prrof of nerdiness: anime chicks in swimsuits. Enjoy. (fap^3) Sorry if it takes a bit to load.
