Hey Jim, I downloaded that adaware program just to see what I had, and it came up with 37 spyware components on my system. Now what exactly does this mean to me? Some of the programs that it showed were things that have to keep track of stuff, like Gator and stuff. There was only one file with a high priority rating (winlogon.exe, I have no idea what that is...), so should I remove stuff, or what? I'm confused! Oh well, doesn't take much, I'm having a blond moment.IP: Logged |

Gator didn't show up "because it has to keep track of stuff", it showed up because it reports statistics about you, your computer, and your internet usage habits back to the corporate server on a regular basis. It also spams you with pop-up ads on a regular basis. Click here for more details about what Gator does, and the evil ways in which it does it - there are worse (much worse) spyware apps out there, but that little "silent trickler install" alone qualifies them in my book as Black Hats.Try removing the spyware components - Gator may or may not function after the spyware part is removed; if it doesn't and you're willing to be snooped on and bombarded with pop-up spam you can always reinstall it.
