My understanding is that the refund is (was) pro-rated to January 1, 2001. (this year). So we were refunded (taxed at a lower rate) on 2001 taxes which would NORMALY be refunded after filing in the first quarter of 2002.

That idiot should be shot. I also have had the displeasure of working with the IRS to resolve problems which were not my fault. Takes them forever. But whren they wanted money from me for back taxes (+penalty
+interest) they want it NOW. FUCK the IRS. This year I sent my return in on Febuary 10th and did not get my refund ($5k) until
early MAY! 3 MONTHS! rat bastards.
