Yeah, I "got" it, but I need help with slapping it on something solid. how the fuck do I bu-...uhh buy it? Its in the form of a "DINO-MAP.BIN", a "DINO-MAP.CUE", and a "dino-map.nfo" file. Problem is, the first file is 786+ mb, which is too large for a normal CD. Jimbo, get on AIM or something, plz! CD-R newbie here

Hmmm... you got a different distr... er, different version than I did. .CUE files are the output of Golden Hawk Technologies' CDRWin, so you'll need to acquire a copy of that, open the .CUE file with it, then it should all be cake from there.Yes, this is a non-standard type burn - the distro I got used CloneCD, and created about an 820MB disc. Btw you'll also be wanting a no-CD patch. Pesky CD checks! Hit GameCopyWorld for that. IP: Logged |

Dude, I use no-CD patches on games I own. CD checks fucking suck big hairy ass, they slow the game WAY down - and who the hell wants to have to dig for the CD every time you wanna play? Fuck that.IP: Logged |

No, since I don't have and CDRs that can actually hold it. And this really isn't bothering me, either. I'll take your word that I'm missing some 'groundbreaking achievement in the FPS genre'. Yawn. =P -3

Fen: Gangster-noir FPS, behind-the-shoulder view (but doesn't get obnoxious or in the way like in Boob Raider), fully utilizes hardware T&L on GeForce cards to INCREDIBLE effect with radiosity lighting. Natural character movement - no super-high-speed circle-strafes like a hovercraft on amphetamines, a la Quake or Unreal. Limited amount of John Woo-style "bullet time" slo-mos at player command to help out with tough firefights - not to mention look cool as fuckin' hell. Also a pretty damn nifty story, for a computer game. Sweeeeeeeet. IP: Logged |

what's really interesting is the discussion surrounding hardware t&a, err, t&l in max payne. as wel ALL know, 3dmark2001 uses the max payne engine, and the nature scene runs faster with software t&l on a geforce3 than with hardware t&l. but the reverend on voodooextreme tested this and found that there was no difference in the game itself. of course, i suspect his thoroughness, because the screenshots showing the frames per second show exactly the same framerate. dont believe me? check it outsoftware t&l - 27.04 fps hardware t&l - 27.04 fps i dont think this is quite accurate. Running 1024x768, not entirely sure what the FPS is - it *does* slow down with an assload of badguys on the screen in a really big chamber every now and then, though.I'll see if I can find a command for an FPS meter and give 'er a check-see tonight. IP: Logged |

the voodooextreme reverand (tals@tm.net.my) says something about "enabling developer mode" to get the framerate. i recommend you email him and ask him how he got the exact same freakin framerateIP: Logged |

I fucked around with developer mode for AN HOUR AND A HALF and couldn't get a fucking framerate counter... the "help" feature is fucking worthless for the developer console because 1. everything's in nasty pig-fucker pseudo-java-script or something and 2. the damn help file scrolls up off the screen instantaneously AND THERE'S NO WAY OF SCROLLING BACK.Good thing the actual GAME is kickass, 'cause the console is retarded beyond belief.
