Hrm.I went out this evening to get some tacos.
Strange. Everyone was panicking and fistfights were breaking out at the gas stations I drove past.
SUV's are lined up at the pumps for half a bloody block. Blocking traffic. Starting fights (I was next, @#$!@@#)
They are all sitting in 3 hour waits... with their engines running.. to get gas. Ironic.
I stopped at my regular gas station in order to use their ATM.
I asked someone I knew there "why?"
Why? Because they fear that gas prices may (MAY) rise tremendously. They want to fill up (after idling for 3 hours) now so they dont have to fill up again for another 4 days...
Dammit people. Thats part of the bloody problem. Not JUST the SUV's... but the "we need gas now!!!" syndrome.
Of course, if a war would start in the middle east somewhere then gas prices WILL rise dramatically. (why does everyone assume its from there? No South American militants, or Chinese Militants? Or Good ol' American Militants?)
Why should I care? I'll spend $25 a week on gas for my little foreign car instead of 12? Hrm.. sucks... but I wouldn't wait in line for 3 hours to prevent it for one week.
I hate people. Sometimes I want to take a stash of supplies up to northern canda somewhere and fend for myself away from all people. Then I remember that mounties are people too and I laugh and I feel better.
