Around noon on Wednesday rescuers pulled a policeman, still alive, out of one of the estimated hundred or so voids. He had been buried for an entire day. Earlier, at around 1 a.m., another police officer was pulled out. He told his rescuers he had been on the 82nd floor of one of the towers when it collapsed, and "rode the building down to the ground."
