Some of our more observant readers may have noticed something different about the main page today.

Yes... PenIs has been sent the ad codes for the bla-bla UGO transition, and we now have to run them, along with the ugo logo. We may have to start running some other ads on different pages, so I'd like some feed back on the following ad shapes/sizes to see what you wouldn't mind seeing on pages like the message board, image page, archives, etc if it is decided that we have to run them.


We are doing whatever we can to not have to run pop-ups.

Anyway... Like I said:

We may be required to run a lot more of these soon. What/where do you prefer?

Suggestions would be appreciated. That top ad(468x60) may be required on most pages. The kinks are still being worked out.

they are ok but where the hell is some pr0n site ads. oh and if you have to do pop ups make them unders cause i fucking HATE when they block what i am reading.

I'm afraid that the nature of the pop-up is determined by the advertiser We are given codes, and the codes for the pop-ups seem to just be a link to another site where it gets the ad/java script.

But... with any luck we wont have to use them at all

As far as the pr0n goes: Ugo has become a family friendly host since buying out bla-bla. I'm afraid that nothing more than 'R' rated ads will ever get placed here. Sorry.


Let me rephrase my original question a bit:
Besides the pop-up, are there any of these that you absolutely would HATE to see anywhere on penIs?

Oh yeah:

The majority of ads are either random or change every few weeks.

We also have no control over the class of ads that are displayed. If you see ads for barney plush toys, it will be because ALL the ugo sites are getting it :/

Maybe we should just add a banner to the message board and see if we get yelled at?

hmmm R only ads, well i remember a good R movie by the name of Basic Instinct that had a damn good bush shot. so with that bring on the bush shot ads .

oh and that ugo calendar is kind of over powering where do you plan on putting that?

One positive points on these ads compared to the old bla-bla ones:

The bla-bla ads would not allow the page to load until their ads did. If the ads were not working you had to wait over 2 minutes for the pages to load.

These just load normally, with no special priority... at least not the way I've put them in. Also: If you use Netscape over half of them wont show up. Congratulations Netscape users!

Ads, unlike penises, should be as thin and unobtrusive as possible. Make 'em as small and skinny as you can get away with. I don't even notice banner ads anymore so they don't bother me. But big fat ads take up too much of our limited screen real estate.

489x185 and the calendar one are too damn big.

Hi Dr. Lara, I'm a new listener and I was just wondering how this all started in the first place? Why did you sell your penis to bla-bla?
