Heard on the radio this morning..A number of people are apparently trying to get out of military committments by claiming to be "conscientious objectors". In doing this, they hope to get honorable discharges so they can get on with their cowardly little lives. Why is this a big deal? These are people that signed up for ACTIVE DUTY because of the GI Bill or to "learn a trade". Now that Uncle Sam wants value for the money, they're freaking out and trying to get out of going to Afghanistan. One of the guys that called in served during Desert Storm. He said the guys wanted to shoot the cowards that griped about having to serve even though they just signed up for college money. He was really annoyed. Honestly, the U.S. Military != scholarship fund.The thing that killed me, is these are not people from the Reserves, but ones that actually signed on for active duty. -Bex IP: Logged |

Bastards! If you're going to enlist, you've got to be cognizant of the fact that yes, the world may not be perfect, and yes, you may have go to a far off land to defend our nations interests. And you just might get killed. Yes, it is their choice to try and weasel out of service. It is also my choice to spit at them if they do succeed, and tell them that I hope that they get skullfucked. yes they are punks and of course you are going to have this every time some possible war pops up. i have talked to a lot of my friends who are still in and they say morale is at an all time high. if morale is as high as they say i would have maybe stayed for two more years. i always loved blowing up shit and shooting really big gus. hell i would have volunteered to go, but i was just a computer guy so the odds of me being right on the front lines would be slim but i would be able to support at the most foward command level position. also during time of war more awards and faster advancement in rank; lets not forget the best fringe bennifit killing some taliban babies, women,and men. I'll lay in with my $.03 here:I'm in the midst of seperating from the military after 13.5 years in (been through one war, thanks much), and I'm currently in limbo about my seperation date because of all this flim flam. I'm also of a job type that will have absolutely no impact on the ongoing war effort and I will most assuredly stay here in place in Texas for the duration. That being said, if I get dicked around and they don't let me out on time, well there's not much I can do about it. I'll bitch if December 20 rolls around and I'm still in the military, but I'll still show up for work. No, if these people are trying to get out before they were due and are just scared because of all this war crap, my non-commisioned opinion is fuck the little weasles, retrain them into the in-flight cruise missle maintainance career field. My understanding is these are people who are fairly freshly enlisted, signed on for active duty because of the GI Bill or to learn a new trade for "free" and now that they are getting shipped off to the middle east, they're complaining that their enlistment officers never mentioned they might have to go to war! my personal idea is that if they wanted to sign up because of the GI bill then they shold have signed up for something other than "generic footsoldier" they should have gone to computers, mechanic, something lowkey incase of war or any other activity, my brother went to korea and he was a mechanic, they soldiers got shit thrown at them, pissed on ect on a daily basis, while he sat in his tent doing whatever he wanted. so if these guys are saying they dont wanna goto war then they should have joined something that would not warrant them togo. by best but joined the air force this year and he installs explosives into ejection seats right now until he finishes his schooling for explosives somethingorother. he's pretty safe from bin laden as long as he doesnt blow him self up he's all set.but these kids, fuck em, they signed up, if they wanna go home, then tell them they can go home anytime they want, but first ship em to the middle east and tell them they're walking.
