So I'm a little late..I had a dumb terminal bought from the university surplus office for $20. I used it basically only for local chat lines and BBS's. Problem was you couldn't scroll back to see stuff you missed and there was no such thing as split screen. I had to learn to type like the wind, read fast and attempt to keep up. Wasn't too difficult when it was a 7 person max chat setup with a 1200 baud modem since I read faster than it scrolled. It got insane with a 2400 baud and a 13 line chat.
I moved up to an 8088 with an amber screen monitor, 640k RAM and a whopping 40MB HD. I had toyed with more primitive systems before making this very cool purchase, like a Commodore(?) with a tape drive. I wrote dumb little BASIC programs and saved them on spare cassette tapes I had laying around. I also played Ping Pong for the first time on that relic.
I was introduced to the Mac OS on an 8MHz Mac Plus and later graduated to a Mac 636CD.
Since then I've been using other people's computers since I'm a leech.
