Hi,
I want to move a huge amount of data (e.g 25 mb to 50 mb) from one remote server to another remote server. And i don't have telnet access.
Moreover i don't want to stay connected to internet all the time.
Does anybody know a tool that can be useful to me ??
Any help in this regard would be sincerly appreciated..
Eagerly awaiting any response

Thanks/Regards
Great Techno.

VPN and less than 15 minutes on a crappy cable modem.

I did this for the lab I set up for my university, and I was amazed at how well everything worked. I set up an Oracle developer client, fired up the VPN connection and I was SELECT * FROM EMP;ing to my heart's content.

so let me get this straight

you are on your machine (client) and there is a server that you want data off from, and you want to move it to another server (that is NOT your client machine, but another server)

well

if ftp is setup on both of those (and you have acconts / priveldges)

then download and run FXP

it allows you to log into one FTP, download files DIRECTELY to another FTP (that you have upload/write access to) without YOU haveing to download them yourself (thus making you the middle man)

if not, VPn like he sadi will work good

25-50 megs... Do you know anyone with a cable modem and 5 minutes? Or schools. Some libraries. Internet kiosks with poor security. 50 megs is nothing to a cable modem.

...or about 5 hours on a dialup modem. Whats wrong with leaving the computer on and walking away?

You could always go the ol' floppy disk/bridged zip method... providing you've got a day or so to spare. But hell, wouldn't it be worth it just to tell your friends that you did that?

Hi,

I happened to come across a site http://www.ftpy-ah.com
this site may not be perfect but it does serve the purpose of transfer of data from one server to another. And it is unbelieveably fast.
The main problem with the site is that it does not allow you to access your local Hard Disk.
Regards,
Merryfi
