Want to know what 80's cartoons I used to watch? Keep in mind I'm a girl (read: the only Transformers I ever owned were Happy Meal toys), and since I'm only 18 most of the stuff I remember is late 80's, as opposed to early.Here goes: Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Jem, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony, Punky Brewster, Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock, You Can't Do That On Television... okay, I know not all of those were cartoons, nor were they Saturday morning, but still. I got on this big nostalgia kick a couple months ago and went around downloading theme songs for all these shows to see if I still remembered any of them... scarily enough, I did. IP: Logged |

hey hey hey (fat albert reference) i watched Pee-Wee, Muppet Babies, Fragle Rock, and You Can't Do That On Television (common, anyone who had Nickelodeon at that time did.) One show that I watched that many people never saw was a cartoon called "David the Gnome" that was on Nickelodeon. That show rocked. Another show that I havent seen mentioned too much: the super mario bros super show, with Captain Lou as Mario! I watched that horrible show so much!

I remember David the Gnome (which was passable) and the Little Bits (which I disliked)... there was also one other show... I can't remember the name, but it had two koala things on it... and scared the hell out of me. And, in case anyone gives a shit... my picture.

Jimbo - I hoped that would be the case but considering I've been lurking around here for a month or so, not posting, and seeing some of the stuff that WAS posted... I had to be sure. I'm glad I'm getting a positive response to that... I had a bunch of pictures I took in Toronto last spring and that was the most normal-looking of the bunch. I wish I had a way of posting a more recent one, cause I look a little different now, but the only digital camera we have is at home (I'm at college in Cincinnati), and it's one of those cheap miniature ones and it's really blurry. The only reason we have it anyway is cause my brother's friend stole a TON of stuff from K-mart, including that, and they caught him and to pay them back (we're talking thousands of dollars and the kid is 13-14) he has to sell all this shit off. Dude...David the Gnome is the shit. I had totally forgotten about that show until good ol' Biggles brought it up. Fuck, Nickelodeon owned me as a kid. Especially since my parents wouldn't let me watch "impure" stations like MTV or Fox. Well, weekday Fox I couldn't watch. Weekends for cartoons, hells yeah, there was no way I was not gonna watch that.Oh and I remember somehow sneaking a spare TV into my bedroom in middle school so my brother and I could wake up early (!) and watch The Super Mario Show. Fuckin Cap'n Lou Albano. Hahaha. And we taught my baby brother (at the time) to "do the Mario", which was Albano's drunken half-fall at the end of that dance he'd do at the end of every show. Aaaaaaaaaaah...childhood. How I miss it. <------------And that's my picture to the left, but here's one I just took:
