so...i was browsing the bibleman website.i came across willie ammes (bibleman)'s special message...it seems that the bibleman live shows will not be able to continue due to lack of funding...ouch. i really feel for them, oh wait, no i don't. they don't ask for donations (according to his special farewell), and they won't. willie has "always believed that the lord will provide if he wants it to continue." hmm...seems the answer from the heavens is a resounding "NO!" also, i was looking at some of the episode guides: they have a computer system called "U.N.I.C.E." pronounced eerily similar to UNIX...which is odd, cause episode 1 has a "character" in it called "the link to underhanded computer influences" (LUCI). also...biblegirl is kinda hot. hmm...can't say i agree with sending mixed messages to our good christian youngsters...oh well. i'm bitter. and this is the second post i've made in this topic. 2 out of 3 ain't bad... You know, some of these, aside from the really obvious ones, I have to wonder whether trained ministers would even know. Here's a random verse that sounds like all the other verses. Which verse is it?!!Oh and here is my certificate. IP: Logged |

After a brief scan, I think the skeptics annotated bible is more of a verse by verse biatch slap than a mockery. I have a friend who will find that very interesting.Of course, the reason he will find it interesting is because his mom is a devout christian who drug him to church every sunday for years. I can't blame him for having an axe to grind, and if he chooses to expend the time and energy to rail against it who am I to say it is a foolish waste of time? On the other hand, my sweetie is a Christian. Personally, I am a bit jealous of her faith. I know I would sleep easier if I had all the answers handed to me, and knew that I would be floating on a fluffy cloud after I finish my shit sandwich. One thing I have noticed from meeting some of her friends is the way they network people from the church into a job or a place to live if they come on hard times. My heathen buddies have hooked me up from time to time, but these folks get together once a week and aren't afraid to share their woes. Then again, I often hear them talking about fairly impressive things they have done or lived through ... but instead of taking credit where it is due, saying 'Thank jesus, he gave me the strength to get through it'. Bottom line, whether or not people of faith are right or wrong, on the average they seem to be a lot happier for it. I may not be down with religion, but I do find happy folks a lot easier to deal with. ------------------ I don't practice what I preach, because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to. Glad it's that way wherever you are; my personal experience doesn't seem to bear that out. Oh and btw, </.02> won't show up unless you use code to create one of the angle brackets - your browser thinks it's an actual HTML tag and tries to render it. IP: Logged |

I have been humbled a more than a little by the better half on that subject, when we first talked after years of not seeing each other I was honest about the reasons I don't believe. Even though it wasn't what she wanted to hear by any means, she respected my views simply because I had given the issue a lot of thought and could rationalize my conclusions.I'll admit she is a rare bird, but it did give me pause for thought. Here is mine: http://www.bibleman.com/certificates/certificate3.swf?name=Simon%20Gabriel I got 7 out of 7. But I cheated. So what does that make me? A wolf in sheep's clothing? A snake in the garden? Or simply Jim Bakker? SG [This message has been edited by Simon Gabriel (edited 01-09-2002).] IP: Logged |
