investigator - Mr. Alan Pinkerton. The function that Pinkerton

actually was the beginning of the Secret Service.

Since that time federal police authority has grown to a large number of
three-letter agencies - FBI, CIA, INS, IRS, DEA. Now comes a proposal
for
another agency: The "Airport Security Service."

Can't you see it now... the new service in their black outfits with
their
initials in large white letters across their backs?

Too bad they'll make it "Airline Security Association" or something similar. Even the government isn't quite slow enough to not check the acronyms first.

Well I've never seen Secret Service agents running around in jackets with SS on their backs either, as that would be a bit embaressing. Although it would be fitting to see Dubya being escorted my a bunch of agents in nazi uniforms, but that's a different topic alltogether...

I have no idea where I was heading with this post so I'll quit now.

Believe me, the gov't lives for it's acronyms. It would be fun to see that one slip past tho

I think they should get smart and go with Civilian Airport Clandestine Korps
