i recently turned my bed around so my feet face away from my door and toward my window, which means that when i wake up my eyes are aimed pretty much right at me window also. so this morning i awoke to go to class only to be blinded by the sun...this is the first time this has ever happened to me in this room. basically the entire window was like a giant flourescent light, only times 100. i think it's because of all the dust and crap the rain leaves behind on the glass like, diffuses the light and umm....makes my window really bright...damn i lost all the steam i had...on an unrelated note:
here's a site i found out about through the smoking gun: wiretap radio. not sure if it's been here before, but what the hell... smoking gun is worht checking out if oytu haven't seen it before, so is wiretap radio. they've got all kinds of interesting things...mostly documents...i found the site over the summer, just haven't got around to posting it until now. enjoy. ------------------

My battle with the sun ended when I taped black plastic garbage bags to the windows...It don't look to pretty, but at least I can sleep without a blanket wrapped around my head.
Waking up at 5AM to my roommates watching Top Gun at full volume is another story...IP: Logged |

my bed is faced more or less like that facing the window.couple things make mine not so bad. 1) my window is on the west side of the house 2) i haver very thick curtains that blocks most of the light, got them a few years ago because christmas lights were keeping me up. later

I have two windows in my bedroom. One is boarded up because when we got central A/C in the house, I took out the wall unit. Can't find the glass that goes there.Now, the other window doesn't get sun in the winter, but man oh man does it get it in the summer. Mind you, this is Florida, where it is hot anyway. I like hurricane season because I board up the other window and it makes my bedroom dark 24 hours a day. And much cooler without the sun blazing in. IP: Logged |

What works well (and cheap) alluminum foil. Foil over the window, tape it down, pull curtains closed. Just don't keep popcorn kernals in your room.
