There is one thing that keeps me watching the superbowl every year, no matter what team is playing.The commercials. Now, normally I totally hate commercials of any sort, especially the ones that tend to aim for the lowest common denominator of human inteligence. But, this is the one time of the year that companies normally strive to make the commercials interesting enough to be worthy of watching. The commercials this year sucked blind monkey dung. They were bad. They were more or less the normal type of commercial that tends to either make your brain hurt or try to appease your eyes with a few flashes of color followed by a company logo. And I refuse to go to that mlife website simply because of how much I hated the commercials for that too. IP: Logged |

Speaking of which, I caught that 2 minute (or thereabouts) Britney Pepsi commercial. The part at the end that surprised me was the website tag: pepsi.yahoo.com, instead of www.pepsi.com. This sort of vaguely irritates me, and I'm not sure why. Anyway, after that, I stopped watching until my roommate came running upstairs to order me to watch the last few seconds of the game, because "...they're tied and the Patriots are up for a field goal with 2 seconds left on the cl0x0r!!!11" (<-l33tsp33k ending added by me.) Anyway, I didn't make it down in time, but I saw the replay. Who woulda thought. I also agree with the statement that football = pWNED by corporate monkey fucker mouthwhores. I even hold a vague suspicion that all the victories are semi-scripted by some evil behind the scenes type dudes. -3 IP: Logged |

I only started watching the game around the third quarter. but at the end (about 2 mins left on the clock or whenever they tied the game) I find out my brother who just joined the air nation guard bet his commanding officer 20 bucks on who would win, he picked the team that lost though so, I laughed at him.later

thinking about it more closely I believe I liked the movie previews the most of all the commercials.the Blade 2 (didn't wisler die in 1?), Austin powers 3, which can't be called goldmember anymore read about it here http://filmforce.ign.com/ap3/articles/318108p1.html , oh and men in black 2. not sure but some of those might have been on after the superbowl was over. later

Gah... its been long enough since the end of the game now that this years commercials are mixing in with last years in my head.I guess the only way I'll be able to keep them separate is to remember that if it sucked it was this years  I did like the look of a few of the movies though. Except for that one with Mel Gibson... no matter what the movie the commercial sucked ass. IP: Logged |

the game was good. Much better than the blowout i thought it was going to be. The commercials were outta hand.. and fuckin BAD. A few of the budlight comm. were ok. But nothing of superbowl quality. The whole thing was strung with Sep.11th propaganda... and U2 sang the song... aren't they irish or some shit? I think it was rigged so that the patriots would win because of their name... or the Rams had NUTHIN goin' on untill the 4th qrtr when they decided to play. and warner blew chunks. There was some damn good plays that game. As far as the marketing shmorgesborg... get over it. Our Country is a marketing shmorrrrrrriswhatever.. shouldn't you be desensitized by now. ??? They will ruin everything eventually you know. My favorite hip hop group signed to FUCKIN RAWKUS.. which is indy... but still. and now they are doing .LRG ads. Um. Complaining that football is all corporate marketing is kinda like complaining that Mr. Pibb isn't good for you.
