Is repression wrong?
Seriously - I dont want to remember the last four years. Can I take back my virginity, my attachment to friends, my soul?
It is not as if the rest of my life is doomed, but it would certainly seem the last four have been nothing but emotional scars... can't I just have them removed?

YES! if you do enough other things and NEVER EVER talk to those people or go back to that place again then it will all go away.

weeee someone else on pen who is feeling crappy about life in some way or another...let me tell you brother, repression is A-O-K!! the only thing is, if you repress too much, you could overflow that part of your mind where everything goes when you repress it...and it'll all come flooding back ten times worse...

i'm currently in a crisis of sorts...i hate school, yet i am here. at school. it sucks a lot, after much thinking and a talk with the girlfriend i've decided that i should stop going to two of my classes use that time ot focus on other things...i'm not going ot withdraw from these classes cause that would mean dorpping down to half-time and not being able ot live on-campus for the rest of the semester, which would suck cause i have no money nor do i have a place to live. so in short i am going ot change my life in a way that may end up hurting me in the long run, but it is healithiest for me right now.

i reccommend a long meditation on what exactly it is you want to repress, and why. and rather than simply repressing it, expunge it from your life. make a lifestyle change that will better your existence for right now. if you make a mistake, live with and and don't dwell on it too much...TAKE A LEAP

(am reminded of a tv show where a character encouraged others to do this and everything turned out really shitty for everyone involved, but not life-alteringly shitty...everyone was mad for a while, but they got over it once they found the good in the situation.)

The hardest thing to do in life is change.

Everyone I meet thinks their fate is sealed, in one way or another, simply because they are afraid of taking the Initiative.

Hell, who am I to talk when I have been putting off all the important shit in my life?

To sum it all up: Laugh at your past- no need to repress it, just ignore it. "Live in the moment" is a trite statement, but don't be nervous just because you fucked things up before.

And take advantage of that free medical care, dammit!

Must be something in the air, I picked my bro up from the bail bondsman tonight ... he has been in since Friday on assault 2 charges (yes boys and girls it's a strikable offense, like three and you're out)

He was up fishing with a friend Friday, and this kid who knows him was driving up the river road with some buddies. Asshole saw my bro's car on the side of the road and stole it, then proceeded to run around town for a couple hours in it. My bro thought he was hosed and was going to lose his job, etc.

Well he calls a friend a couple blocks down the road to put the word out, and his car is there! He told his friend not to say a word and left the house with a mag-lite and a roll of duct tape.

Soooo he shows up at the friend's place and hides in the bushes ... the genius who jacked his shit comes out of the house ... suddenly blinded by a mag light shining in his face ... he raises his arms ... blammo >flop on the pavement< blammo kick kick scream obcenities get the tape out ... and he realizes the neighbors are watching ... takes his car back home and gets tossed in the slammer 15 minutes later.

The kid he PK'ed has a record already, (25 year old needle using meth-head felon), and he'll be doing time for stealing the car, but he had his face knocked sideways acouple inches with lacerations and some broken teeth and ribs ...

I hope they don't my bud away too long.

Remember kids ... stealing is bad, mmmkay?

Repression is so much easier once you have moved. All the memories are miles upon miles away. I have done a mild repression for about a half a year now, and I decided to go all the way, just blank out those years of my life (they do it in those books about psychology all the time... nevermind the result is tragic)
Aphex as in Aphex twins?
I listen to Bright Eyes, Our Lady Peace, and Dashboard Confessionals.. as well as any slow beetles

hmmm...an emo kid...bright eyes....

a girl i know once tried to make me listen to him. it wasn't pretty. and neither was she.

"and sometimes you sleep over, but we stay in our clothes..." that is the only line i can remember, i'm not even sure that it's right...

i listen to poppy punk crap, along with some hardcore, paul simon, the pixies and a lot more metal than i used to listen to.

for some fucking reason i've gone on this Rush kick for like the last week... all I listen to is fucking Rush, David Sylvian's "Dead Bees on a Cake" and Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works II" ... I mean, fuck, today I went to two different used CD stores to pick up some Rush CDs because I got tired of listening to my old tapes....

Oh god,

Selected Ambient II is the fucking shit

I loop that CD, pop on my wireless headphones, and fall asleep with it on.

Fucking beautiful, one of his best cd's, and quite old, remastered/released a few years back.

Drukqs (his newest) has some good stuff on it, hella fast acid beats, but the nice beautiful ambient totally backs it up. Drukqs is by far my favortite of all time.

And just what is wrong with Vegas?

For the record, I'm a (semi) big Crystal Method and Aphex Twin fan... I own both Crystal Method discs, and for Aphex Twin: Come to Daddy, DrukQs, I Care Because You Do, Richard D. James album, Selected Ambient Works vol. II, Windowlicker, and Surfing on Sine Waves (that is Richard, he released it as Polygon Window).

Aphex Twin kicks ass.
