I logged into the Pen BBS for the first time in a week or two and saw that only four of you are currently playing Trade Wars 2002.I have a few questions for you TW fans out there:
1) Are you waiting for the game to be re-banged before you play?2) Are you waiting for others to participate before you play again? 3) Is there anything we could do to make the game more interesting? More aliens? 4) Does anyone know of any decent In Game Modules for TW2002 that work with version 4?
Basically I'm interested in getting that game going at its formerly impressive pace again. -Chris IP: Logged |

But... Return to Castle Wolfenstein doesnt' really run well on a BBS. Thats why there's (sometimes) a separate penIs game server! IP: Logged |

Screw that RTCW crap, lets get a quake server up in this. NOT quake 3, just regular quake. Hell, it's free, and anyone who can play LOTRD could prolly play quake... IP: Logged |

the engine is open-source, but the content isnt. you still need to buy the game for the levels and such. they didnt just decide to give you a game for free. however, if you were so inclined, you could now look at the source code and use it to write your own game engine, which i know every single one of us has been eager to do IP: Logged |

YOU MEAN ITS ILLEGAL TO STEAL GAMES?!?!?!
Why didn't anybody tell me!!!
(yeah, Quake 2 was fun, but Quake I was still better... unless you play Jail Break. That was perhaps the best mod on any game, sans CS and TFC)

Oh yeah, I never did answer any of the original questions.I guess I've just had my fill of TW and LORD nostalgia. If there was a BRE or SRE game going, though... I was pretty good at that back in the day. I never did really get into TW like some of you have. Sure, I enjoyed playing, and I raped my share of pairs in the day, and I even kept a little notebook - but I never used any helper programs or the like. I guess I'm saying I wouldn't be competitive enough. (But an interbbs game of SRE or BRE would be a different story.) -3 IP: Logged |
