Fentanyl is included in the synthetic opioid category, so my best guess is that it's claiming its share.

I'm curious how much of that is attributable to:
I've seen graphs with similar increases for alcohol deaths, with a 25% increase just in 2020.

So a combo of more recreational drugs being used in 2020 and the increase of 'cutting/filling' the drugs with synthetic opioids.
Yikes.
I guess I'm happy I stuck to drinking. Well, except for those stats looking really bad for the last few years too. sigh
