Tom Waits sounds like Beefheart imo, at least I think he was first. I almost pissed myself laughing at the eight minute mark during an interview with the drummer:
"Sugaree" (originally by the Grateful Dead) by Reina Del Cid
"Jambalaya" (orig. Hank Williams)
and one without Reina but by Toni (the blond guitarist) and her brother and...cousin? not 100% on that, but it's a great, great, great cover of Steely Dan's "Dirty Work":
Skilled, but I don't know how I feel about those lyrics coming from someone who doesn't sound like they've devoted a lot of their life to cigarettes and heroin.

Captain Beefheart singing "Willie the Pimp" for Frank Zappa sounds like Tom Waits.
Here's a woman who should be a lot more famous than she is.

Thanks for the tip on Paul Pena, record companies can't die fast enough.
Beach Party - Can't Surf
Not my usual fair, but I enjoyed it:
This is a great song. John Prine -- Bruised Orange (Chain of Sorrow)
A most entertaining desecration.

Has Mull done anything major since Roseanne? His standup and songs used to be a basic cable standard.

Dragsterbarbie - Love Sissy

I've been on a stan Rogers kick lately. Mary Ellen Carter and Lies are both very, very good songs.
I feel very maritimey now...
We need to keelhaul someone.
I liked those, a lot.
....but I keep going back to the Die in the Disco eod posted and zoning out for ten minutes at a time.
Kinda in an '80s pop mood lately...
Yeah, I may have posted this already elsewhere. But its a catchy song.
