  • In a world where the bizarrely outlandish has become commonplace, that letter the other day from Trump's doctor about his annual physical stood out as unusually weird

  • "The Left is angry about something but I don't understand why so I will dunk on them by gushing about how attractive I think this rando 17 year old is because that's not creepy" by Steve Sailer

  • Pretty strange for them to put that on a magazine that came out during the middle of Black History Month, even if it is dated March on the cover. Does no one see how that may be a bit... insensitive at least? Or are we just completely buying into the 'empathy is for pussies' thing now?

    Also... what fenomas said.

  • I don't think it's the timing really, it's the utterly banal "check out how tough it is to be white and male these days" premise. It would come off stupidly any month of the year.

  • No, I think you guys are missing the sheer vitriol of the reactions, and I think Fenomas is buying into the anti-white male nonsense. There has been a great deal of hate aimed at white men my entire life.

I don't have time to go into it this morning, but I'll try to write more later. I'm not just ignoring your comments.

  • OMFG! Look at the shear volume of hate that white males have to suffer! It's terrible! Someone should do something!!!

  • Great, another "bill explains why people actually disagree with him, to several people who disagree with him" conversation will be very helpful.

On this white male hate thing, are we talking "constant harassment from cops" sorts of hate, or the really bad stuff like criticism from social scientists?

  • We are talking years of organized vitriol that doesn't go through the formality of being true.

Black history month isn't some kind of sacred period. That people are treating it like it is is yet another sign of societal insanity.

I'm not just ignoring your comments, he said, before repeating himself and ignoring their comments.

Again, the meat in this soup is the "woes of the persecuted white male" narrative. The "during Black History Month!" bit is more viral, since it fits in a tweet and you can feel strongly about it without reading the article. But the article's narrative would (rightly) get blasted any month, and the same article minus the narrative wouldn't have caused much comment. Ergo the timing isn't material.

I was going to respond more completely, but you clearly indicated that you weren't interested.

I mean, if it was just going to be you imputing hidden motivations on people who disagree with you, then sure. If you think the esquire article is great, and clme and I think it's terrible, is it really useful for you to lecture us on why people think it's terrible?

It's strange to consider how many of the conversations here involve you telling us - a bunch of lefties - what you think lefties believe and why you think they believe it. Does that strike you as odd?
